Formal Observations and Mid Year conferences
This has been a very busy month. We set a goal to have all of our 30 minute observations completed before Thanksgiving along with Mid year conferences. The Fierce conversations have lasted longer than expected, with so many questions at the same time trying to deliver information for needs improvement in a way that the individuals still have their dignity has been tough. I think we have all learned a lot from this experience. I had the opportunity of modeling lessons and strategies for teachers who need additional support. I will continue to support teachers in every way that I can.
It is awesome to see that you provide support for teachers through modeling and examples. Ask the teachers that are struggling to record their class and have reflection questions for them to answer. It is important for them to understand how to bridge the gap between teaching and learning. They should look at how the students are responding in the classroom to their instructional practices.
ReplyDeleteTonisha, I concur! This has been a busy month. I feel like I am in a whirlwind! It is frustrating to me as a school leader to feel this way. I know the teachers are feeling the same. How do we expect them to improve when we are not allowing them the time to do so? Just as students, we all learn at different rates and in different ways. I'm sure your teachers appreciate the support you provide them. This is something school leaders need to do more often.
