November is Parent Engagement Month!
November
is Parent Engagement month in the state of Georgia! What are you doing to honor
and highlight the contributions parents provide at school and home to support
student success? The
traditional African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” is so very
true! It is important to engage parents in their children’s education. As
educators, we all know that children benefit academically, socially, and
emotionally when parents and educators work together. November 19th has been declared National Parent Involvement Day. Many schools across Georgia will reflect on the vital partnership
needed between schools and parents. Recognition such as this goes a long way! Do not let
November slip away without acknowledging your PARENTS and getting them involve.
Please share ways your school gets parents involved in
their children’s education.

Thanks for sharing! I had no idea this was going on. I am going to suggest to my administration that we do something for our parents even if it's a simple "all call" thanking them for sending their child to us. Thanks again for this!
ReplyDeleteWe host "A Day in the Life..." parents can come and shadow their students all day, they can come to informational sessions, and we do tech days.
ReplyDeleteLike Nicole I did not know that November was Parent Engagement Month. I think it is an excellent idea to acknowledge our parents.
