It's Hiring Time!
I am very excited that our school district is going to use
AppliTrack as our online application system. Many of you who are a part of a
big school district are probably already using this now. I went to a training
three weeks ago and we were so amazed at how this tool would help our
recruiting, screening, and Employee File Management efforts. AppliTrack
provides applicants with a user-friendly tool to browse and apply for
positions. Applicants are only a click away from viewing current vacancies,
completing an online application, and uploading necessary documents. As far as
school leaders, AppliTrack helps in quickly accessing qualified applicants,
filtering and sorting through candidates, and improving communication
throughout the process. I am curious to know if your district is using
AppliTrack and if so, do you like it?
Fayette County uses it, and I think it's a pretty great tool. The only caveat is that many jobs that are available do not get posted, because principals often work out the transfers and hirings internally...so sometimes when a job does get posted, it's just an official formality for due process. That can be frustrating if you're going through the hassle of creating a resume, and a letter of interest, and applying for a position that isn't even technically available.
ReplyDeleteWe're using a form of this in our county (I really don't know the proper name). It has been in place for a few years. One thing I know for sure principals get instant feedback on who has applied for positions in their school. Also if you're applying for more than one position no need to fill out all the requested material again. It's already on file all you have to do is state new position with a click.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with Charlie you go through all of the hoops to apply via technology just to find out it was truly a formality.
Yes we use applitrack! We love it. It is very simple to go in and post jobs, pull resumes and applications on the spot when we are looking to fill positions, it includes references and all the information needed for an applicant.
